Associate Professor Hsiao-Ling Weng earned her S.J.D. and LL.M degrees from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, Germany and LL.B. degree from the Department of Law, National Chung Hsing University (now restructured to the Department of Law, National Taipei University). After returning to Taiwan, she taught in the Department of Law, National Defense University (Management College) and the Department of Law, National Chung Hsing University. Since 2005, she taught at the Center for General Education and Institute of Law for Science and Technology, National Tsing Hua University. From 2009-2012, she was a full-time Commissioner of the National Communications Commission. Professor Weng's research area covers constitutional law, administrative law and mass media law. In addition to teaching, she also serves as a legal consultant in many government agencies. Currently, her courses such as “Theory and Practice Research on the Communications Law”, “Understanding and Rethinking Media” and “Civil Society and the Rule by Law” are offered at National Tsing Hua University.
