Introduction

Dr. Chun-Chi Hung is an assistant professor at the Institute of Law for Science and Technology. Her research interests are focused on intellectual property law, technology law, law and anthropology, public law, and cultural law. She lectures in the areas of International Intellectual Property Law, Trade Secrets, Patent Law, and Constitutional Law.

She received an LL.B. degree and an LL.M. degree from the College of Law, National Taiwan University. After that, she earned an LL.M. degree from Harvard Law School in the United States. She then went to the United Kingdom to study intellectual property rights and technology law. During her stay in the UK, she explored how new technology interacts with society and law in the master's program "Law, Anthropology and Society" at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and then entered the PhD program offered by the Centre for Commercial Law Studies at Queen Mary University of London for researching international intellectual property law and traditional cultural expressions of indigenous peoples. She was the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the fellowships from the Ministry of Education and the Chiang Ching-Ko Foundation for International Scholarly Exchange. Her PhD dissertation received the rare honor of “unconditional pass with no correction.”

In addition to academic performance, she has abundant experience of practicing law. She served as an attorney-at-law in Jones Day’s Global Disputes team. In Jones Day, she represented the French company Matra Transport in a construction dispute with the Department of Rapid Transit Systems of Taiwan City Government and handled the lawsuits relevant to the first case of administrative control over an insurance company by Taiwan Financial Supervisory Committee. After that, she was a legal manager in Qisda Corporation, a listed company of the BenQ-AUO Group. She also practiced independently as a legal counsel for technology companies, cultural organizations and well-known artists.
